SEXUAL HARASSMENT IN SCHOOLS

It is the policy of the Ministry of Education to maintain a working and learning environment which provides for fair and equitable treatment, including freedom from sexual harassment, for all its employees and students. It is also the policy that there should be no inappropriate sexual misconduct or behavior at schools, at school related activities or on the way to and from school. Sexual harassment includes any unwelcome sexual advances, requests for sexual favors, and other inappropriate verbal, written, electronic, or physical conduct of a sexual nature that creates an intimidating, hostile, or offensive environment. A student/employee shall not sexually harass another student/employee or any volunteer, visitor or any other person present in school facilities, at school functions or on the way to and from school.
